COOLSET1 is one of a range of sodium silicate sand binders manufactured by FOSECO. Each COOLSET has an individual set of properties specifically formulated for different applications.

COOLSET sand binders should be mixed with clean, dry sand; the addition rate between 3.0 -4.0%.

COOLSET 1 sand binder has been formulated as a sodium silicate binder for CO2

When using CO2 as the means of curing the mixed sand, precautions should be taken not to over-gas the mold or cores as this will produce friable and weak edges and surfaces.
